The metronomes mentioned here are recommended because they
also have integrated tuners and are fairly inexpensive. A few, more professional metronome/tuners include: Boss DB-60, DB-66,

There are several types of practice pads availalbe. The ones recommended
have two sides for soft and hard surfaces. Avoid the Remo plastic tunable pads that are usually sold to beginning band students
- these are not even good for beginners!

Please include plastic sheet protectors to protect your
music and a materials pouch to hold items such as: a pencil, highlighter, paper-clips, clothes-pins, etc.
